Health insurance

Health insurance provides for health protection and other rights in line with the law.

Obligatory health insurance is part of the system of social insurance of citizens which provides for the right to health protection and other rights pursuant to the law on the principles of obligation and solidarity to all the citizens of Montenegro as well as to other individuals.

The Fund for Health Insurance ensures the right which is provided from obligatory health insurance pursuant to the law.

Voluntary health insurance is a special form of health insurance which has special conditions for offering health protection on voluntary principle. Other rights which are not included in obligatory insurance are added  to right to health protection.

Insured individuals who have rights and obligations pursuant to obligatory health insurance are beneficiaries, their members of families and other individuals in line with the law.

Citizens of the countries with which an international agreement was entered into  on social insurance realize health protection within the scope as laid down by the agreement.
